At Catholic, players are signed to teams for one year only. After the season is finished, usually early in May we organise age group trials for both all the existing players and any new players wishing to join. Those trials will be conducted according to guidelines drafted by our Child Welfare Officers. The organisation and conduct of the trials will be coordinated by the Football Development Committee.

The Club, usually will field teams of varying abilities in both the SEEPL and SDJFL so under normal circumstances Catholic will be able to accomodate players of all levels of skills.

We do ask players and parent/carers to support the trials. They are a means of ensuring teams are selected based on talent, they ensure there is a transparency about the process, it is an integral part of the club's ethos with regards to fielding competitive teams at all levels.

There should be nothing daunting for children with regard to trials, they normally consist of varying small sided games over a weekend. The main difference is that parents/carers are asked to stand apart from the activities.
