Club Constitution

1. NAME

The CLUB shall be known as Catholic United Minors Football Club and shall be affiliated to the following:

a) The Essex County Football Association

b) The Southend and District Junior Sunday League

c) The South East Essex Primary Mini Soccer League

d) Essex County Cup Competition

e) Charity Competitions

f) And any other recognised competition that the Management Committee deems it appropriate for the club to be affiliated to.

2. COLOURS

The CLUB colours shall be green and white hooped shirts , white shorts and white socks , or such colours as the Management Committee shall decide.

3. FINANCE

a) The Membership and “ signing on “ fee shall be determined by the Management Committee.

b) All outstanding debts to the CLUB must be cleared and the Football Kit must be returned before a player can play for any other Club in the current or for the following season , except at the discretion of the Management Committee.

c) All subscriptions must be paid prior to the commencement of the relevant season.

d) The Management Committee shall have the power to waive any players “signing on” fee if it thinks fit.

e) The weekly training fee for players shall be decided by the Management Committee.

g) Associate and social Membership shall be open to sundry persons for such purposes as the Management Committee, from time to  time, deem fit.

4. OFFICERS

The Officers of the CLUB shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting and shall consist of:

a) The President (Life Appointment)

b) The Chairman

c) The Vice-Chairman

d) 11-a Side Secretary

e) Mini Soccer Secretary

f) Hon. Treasurer

Team Managers shall be deemed Officers of the CLUB by right.

5. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

a) The Management Committee of the CLUB shall consist of the following and who shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

aa)       The Chairman

bb)       The Vice-Chairman

cc)       11-a-Side Secretary

dd)      Mini Soccer Secretary

ee)      Hon.Treasurer

b) Team Managers shall be deemed members of the Management Committee by right

c) The Management Committee shall have the full authority to conduct the affairs of  the CLUB and have jurisdiction over all matters whether or not specially provided for in these rules.

d) The Management Committee shall have the power to co-opt and invite any four persons to become Committee members for the committee year.

e) The Management Committee shall have the power to fill any vacancies during the playing season, and shall meet at least twice during the committee year.

h) At least four persons shall form a quorum at a Management Committee meeting and all persons shall be entitled to vote. In the event of the vote being equal, the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote.

6. MEMBERS

A Member shall be defined as one whose playing fees are fully paid up. Playing Members, 17 years of age or younger will be represented, in voting issues, by a parent or guardian.

Club Membership is open to al, regardless of religion or ethnic background.

7. SUB-COMMITTEES

The Management Committee shall have the power to create Sub-Committees for any functions, and the positions created on those Committees shall be filled by Members Parents/Guardians or person deemed appropriate, for the role, by the Management Committee.

8. GENERAL MEETING

a) Annual General Meeting

aa) The Annual General Meeting shall be called each year in the months between June and September to elect the Officers and the Management Committee. Also for the presentation for adoption of the Annual Reports and Accounts.

bb) Due notice shall be given to each Members Parents or  Guardians at least fourteen days prior to the Meeting.

cc) An Agenda of the Meeting shall be sent to each Members Parents or Guardians at least seven days before the Meeting.

dd) Each Members Parent or Guardians shall be entitled to vote throughout the meeting .Voting shall be by show of hands unless a ballot is demanded by the Chairman or two thirds of those present.

ee) Each Parent or Guardian of a Member shall be entitled to one vote per Family, irrespective of the number of members per Family signed by the CLUB.

ff) Officers, Management Committee and Parents/Guardians shall be entitled to vote throughout the Meeting.

gg) Clarified and True Accounts shall be made available at the Annual General Meeting.

b) Special General Meeting

aa) A Special General Meeting shall be held at the written request of twenty Member Parents or Guardians. The Management Committee may call a Special General Meeting  when it is considered necessary. Seven days notice shall be given to all Parents or Guardians under this rule, together with the Agenda of Business to be transacted at the Meeting . Five Parents or Guardians plus four Committee Members shall from a quorum at a Special General Meeting.

Voting rights will be the same as those outlined in Rule 8 (dd) - (ee)

bb) Voting at a Special General Meeting shall be by a show of hands unless a ballot is demanded by the Chairman or two thirds of those present.

9. TEAM CAPTAINS

Team Captains shall be appointed by their respective Team Managers

10. TEAM SELECTION

All team selection shall be at the discretion of the appointed Age Group Team Managers only or any such person delegated by that Team Manager.

The team selection shall be valid for one season only

11. DISCIPLINE

a) Any Player selected to play and failing to notify the Team Manager of his inability to play before 6.00 pm on the day prior to the match could be fined and/or otherwise dealt with by the Management Committee, unless there are extenuating circumstances.

b) The Team Captains shall have full authority on the field of play and any breach of discipline shall be reported to and will be dealt with by the Team Managers.

c) Dismissal from the field of play whilst playing  for Catholic United Minors FC shall, at the discretion of the Management Committee, carry a standing fine of £15.00. This is on top of any fine/punishment imposed by the Essex Football Association. The Committee hold the right to alter this fine from season to season to cover the costs of administration or representation at any hearing.


d) A bookable offence committed whilst playing for Catholic United Minors FC shall , at the discretion of the Management Committee, carry a standing fine of  £5.00. The Management Committee hold the right to alter this fine from season to season.

e) In cases of unsporting, unsocial and abusive  behaviour by players, officials  or supporter on or off the playing field the Management Committee can by it’s discretion impose a monetary fine up to a maximum of £100.00 over and above a fine set by the Football League. The Management Committee hold the right to alter this fine from season to season.

11. DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES

The Management Committee will rule on disciplinary matters and it’s decisions is final. Once the Management Committee becomes aware of an offence by a member or an offence has been reported through a third party it may after consultation to obtain the facts decide as follows :

a) impose a monetary fine over and above the fine set by the Football League

b) and or issue a verbal warning which will be lodged in the Catholic United Disciplinary Book

c) and or issue a written warning ( a second written warning within the period of 2 years will lead to the expulsion of the member).

d) expel the member with immediate effect.
