Rudi Luft

In the modern era Rudi Luft will forever be associated with Catholic United. For the past twelve years until 2010 he served as Club Chairman after holding various previous posts including team manager. He has worked on both of the local league committees, managed teams, administered the finances, organised the Annual Pre Season Tournament, sorted kit, run trials, put up goals, pumped footballs, liased with parents, watched good teams and poor teams with equal enthusiasm. In his late fifties he acquired his Uefa B licence, buzzing about with the twenty and thirtysomethings.
One of his small pleasures is to be the car on the Sunday and spot how many of those famous hooped jerseys are playing in the local parks. For a number of reasons, this year marks the end of Rudi's formal involvement as he will no longer be involved in a coaching capacity after December. We not only thank him, but owe him a huge debt of gratitude for his selfless years of service to Catholic United Minors.
